One of the best examples of eliminating plastic from your life. You can now buy them in many places without packaging and just think how many plastic bottles you save with this. It takes some getting used to, but that happens quickly enough!
It doesn't get any better than this, soapnuts just grow on the tree and you can do your laundry with them! Instructions can be found here .
Another example of a simple sustainable solution. Birds and in many cases gulls are full of plastic that they find at sea. These straws will last a lifetime and save you countless plastic straws.
A toothbrush made of natural materials, bamboo! This fast-growing plant is super sturdy and yet flexible, making the applications almost endless.
The sponge you get is made from 100% vegetable cellulose, while the abrasive side is made from strong sisal fibers from the agave plant. It is certainly not inferior to the plastic variant and saves the environment enormous amounts of microplastics.
We have had bags made from sustainable cotton, of course with our logo on it. A little merchandise is okay! Put it with you and do your shopping with it, never plastic bags again.
Sustainability is the basis of our concept. We stack all our building blocks on that foundation and work towards a better world. We test every decision we make against this basic condition. This applies to the products we use for delicious cooking, the materials we use in the restaurant and also the lasting relationships we maintain with our suppliers, employees and of course our guests.
Our immediate area has so much to offer! 80% of our dishes are vegetable and 20% prepared with animals that are in surplus in the Netherlands. You can think of the Schiphol goose, crayfish, roe deer and wild boar. We have two vegetable gardens where we grow our products and in and around the restaurant are our own fruit trees, herb plants and cultivated vegetables; it doesn't get more local!
We make as much as possible ourselves; such as beer, soft drinks and other drinks. Products such as tempeh, soy sauce, kimchi and fish sauce are also made in the restaurant. As a result, we not only influence the taste, but we also know exactly what the origin of the ingredients is and whether they are sustainably produced.
